Songs of Erne is a collection of songs and tunes from the West Fermanagh and South Donegal.  The book and CD feature collected music that spans several centuries from the medieval harp tradition to the modern day. The book also looks at the strong bardic tradition of the Fermanagh Maguire chieftains and the poetry of William Allingham. Writers such as Benedict Kiely, Shan Bullock and playwrights Oscar Wilde and Samuel Beckett all have ties with the region and these literary connections are woven throughout the narrative.
